• Encourage kids to go in groups rather than alone. This only enhances safety but also makes the experience more enjoyable.

• Equip Children with flashlights or light-up trat buckets to make them more visible to drivers.

• Expect more pedestrians on the road, especially children. Slow down and be prepared to stop for trick or treaters who may dart into the street unexpectedly.

• Stay off your phone and limit distractions while driving, particularly in areas with high foot traffic.

• Reduce speed in residential areas and be cautious when backing out of driveways.

• Use battery operated lights instead of real candles to avoid fire hazards, keep decorations clear of walkways to prevent tripping.

• Supervise children during pumpkin carving, use safe tools and avoid real flames for lighting.

• Inspect all treats before consumption to ensure they are safe and unopened, throw away any candy that you don’t recognize.
