Northwestern Johnson County in east Tennessee...
Northeastern Carter County in east Tennessee...
South central Washington County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until midnight EDT.

* At 1105 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles northeast
of Elizabethton, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Bristol Tn, Elizabethton, South Holston Dam, Hunter, Morril's Cave,
Doeville, Harr, Sadie, and Shady Valley.

This includes Interstate 81 in Virginia between mile markers 13 and
14.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
