The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southeastern Adair County in northeastern Missouri...
Northeastern Macon County in north central Missouri...

* Until 645 PM CDT.

* At 540 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles west of
Atlanta, or 10 miles southwest of La Plata, moving northeast at 25
mph. Another severe storm was located near La Plata. This warning
replaces the previous severe thunderstorm warning in effect for
Macon and Adair Counties.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
La Plata, Atlanta, Brashear, Gibbs, and Elmer.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
