City of Kirksville recognizes National Police Week

(Kirksville, MO) - The City of Kirksville recognizes National Police Week from May 10 to May 16, 2026.
There are more than 800,000 law enforcement officers serving in communities across the United States, including the dedicated members of the Kirksville Police Department. The men and women of the Kirksville Police Department play an essential role in safeguarding the community they serve and reside in.
May 15 of each year is Peace Officers Memorial Day, recognizing officers killed in the line of duty.
The Kirksville Police Department remembers Night Marshal John Wesley Rose, who was killed on duty on November 17, 1930. Rose is buried in Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
