Hit the stage with Children’s Theatre Camp this summer
(Kirksville, MO) - Join the Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department’s two-week Children’s Theatre Camp this summer for kids 8 to 12 years old.
This is an amazing opportunity for young actors to prepare for a role alongside our talented adult and teen performers in the upcoming production of “Finding NEMO.”
During the first week of day camp, students will practice theatre performance skills and learn production numbers as the youth chorus. During the second week, students will join the adult and teen cast for their evening rehearsals to work their camp numbers into the full production.

The musical and youth camp will be directed by Elizabeth Anderson, an English and Theatre educator at Kirksville High School with more than 15 years of experience working with young people and theatre. Assisting at camp will be current and alumni members of the Kirksville High School Thespian Troupe. These camp mentors will help teach our performers the production numbers and provide additional supervision at rehearsals and performances.
Important dates:
- June 30 - July 3, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, morning skills practice at the William Matthew Middle School Auditorium
- July 7 - July 9, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, evening rehearsals with the full cast at the William Matthew Middle School Auditorium
- Performances on July 10 at 7:00 pm, July 11 at 7:00 pm and July 12 at 2:00 pm
