Street drainage improvement work beginning soon

(Kirksville, MO) - The City of Kirksville wants to inform residents of street drainage improvements that will begin soon and last into the summer. Construction, done by Andrew Shultz Contracting LLC, can include removing and replacing the concrete curb, gutter, slab and/or sidewalk.

The schedule will go as follows:
  • Beginning April 13 and lasting two to three weeks: Schefield Street, from South High Street to the end of the road.
  • Beginning early May and lasting three to four weeks: South Halliburton Street, from East Patterson Street to south of East Hamilton Street.
  • Beginning early June and lasting three to four weeks: East Pierce Street, from South Lewis Street to South Halliburton Street.
  • Beginning early July and lasting three to four weeks: South Halliburton Street, from East Jefferson Street to East McPherson Street.
Traffic control will be in effect, and may be reduced to one lane, with temporary closure during construction to accommodate construction equipment. The street construction will make travel in the area difficult at times, so please limit any unnecessary travel and use alternative routes in the area. No parking will be allowed along the roads or in the right-of-way during construction. Please pay attention to signage and personnel when driving through a construction zone.
