KPD arrests Kirksville woman for felony stealing
(Kirksville, MO) - The Kirksville Police Department has made an arrest for felony stealing following an investigation.
On December 18, 2025, Kirksville Police were notified of a possible theft by an employee from a local business. Over the next few weeks, the business reviewed video surveillance and transactions made by the employee since the beginning of 2024. During that time span, the employee was found to have voided cash transactions on approximately 500 sales for services and purchases and had pocketed approximately $45,000 in cash.
The employee was identified as Charley Vassholz, age 34, from Kirksville. During KPD’s investigation, Vassholz was also found to be in possession of four stolen tires from the business.
On February 1, 2026, Vassholz was arrested for felony theft. She was booked and subsequently released with a court date.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
