Snow Emergency declared, Hometown Holiday postponed

(Kirksville, MO) - The City of Kirksville is declaring a Snow Emergency to begin at 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025. All vehicles parked on designated Snow Emergency Routes, including streets in the Downtown, must be moved that evening. Vehicles not moved when plowing operations begin are subject to ticket and/or tow. With heavy snow expected, we strongly encourage moving vehicles from those routes earlier.

Due to this, Kirksville’s Hometown Holiday is being postponed to next Saturday, December 6, 2025.

This includes the Kiwanis Christmas Parade, Toasty Trails Fire Pit area and carriage rides. On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the parade will still be at 5:30 pm with the tree lighting to follow. The fire pit area, carriage rides and Main Street Merry Market will be open from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm that day.

The Merry Market will still be open with Santa from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on November 29, 2025, as part of Small Business Saturday.

The City of Kirksville will announce when the Snow Emergency is terminated, so stay tuned to official City communications for that notice. Please limit your travel during the Snow Emergency so plow crews can work quickly and efficiently to clear the roads.
