City of Kirksville commemorates Veterans Day
(Kirksville, MO) - Mayor Zac Burden has signed a proclamation recognizing Veterans Day on November 11, 2025.
The City of Kirksville wants to express its gratitude to the men and women from our community who have served. Veterans Day honors all who have served in the United States Armed Forces and celebrates their selfless contributions to preserving the peace and security of our nation. These veterans, whether in times of declared war or during periods of peace, have protected our nation's ideals, helped spread freedom around the globe, and served as exemplars of courage, leadership, and commitment.
The Adair County Veterans Memorial at Rotary Park honors veterans from the region who served in all eras of service. Fifteen new names were recently added to the wall in time for Veterans Day. Mayor Burden presented the proclamation to those veterans or members of their families at a small ceremony on November 10 at the memorial.
It is the sacred obligation of all citizens to honor our veterans for their service and sacrifices, to care for them and their families, and to ensure that the legacy of their bravery and dedication endures for future generations.
