The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 845 PM MST.

* At 552 PM MST, The public reported thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area as well as accumulation hail. Between
0.25 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Avondale, Goodyear, El Mirage,
Tolleson, Youngtown, Sun City, Cashion, Litchfield Park, Glendale
Sports Complex, Downtown Glendale, Camelback Ranch, Downtown
Peoria, Arrowhead Mall, Metro Center, Phoenix International
Raceway, Estrella Mountain Park and Deer Valley Airport.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
