The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Burnet County are hosting a public meeting for the WIRTZ DAM ROADWIRTZ DAM ROAD. No formal presentation is planned, and community members are invited to come, provide feedback, and go at their convenience.

The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Marble Falls Public
Library, 101 Main Street, Marble Falls, Texas, 78654.


Project materials will be available for review at the public meeting. Attendees will be able to view the project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff, Burnet County and consultants, and leave written comments. To view the project materials before or after the public meeting, call the TxDOT Austin District at 512-756-2316 to set up a meeting. Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Burnet Area Office, 3029 E. SH 29, Burnet, TX 78611. Project materials will be available in hard copy form for review at the public meeting.

Project Profile
Currently, Wirtz Dam Road (Burnet County Road 426) is an undivided two-lane roadway from RM 1431 to the Colorado River and from the Colorado River to RM 2147. The project proposes to:
• Reconstruct Wirtz Dam Road
• Build a new bridge crossing the Colorado River to connect to RM 2147
• Add shoulders and turn lanes to certain locations
The proposed roadway will be 3.68 miles, stretching from RM 1431 to RM 2147 in the City of Cottonwood
Shores.

Additional right of way would be required. TxDOT can provide information about the right of way acquisition process. For more information, contact the TxDOT Austin District Office at 512-832-7000.

All comments must be received on or before Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, to be included in the official summary report. Written comments may be submitted:
