2024 Sandy Balloon Festival

Don’t miss Sandy’s 17th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival 2024! This exciting event is packed with fun activities for the whole family and is completely FREE to the public.

Event Details

Early Morning Hot Air Balloon Launches:

• Dates: Friday & Saturday, August 9 & 10
• Time: Sunrise (approximately 6:30 a.m.)
• Location: Storm Mountain Park - 980 East 11400 South
• Highlights: Help the pilots prep the balloons and sign up for a chance to enjoy a free tethered ride 50-80 feet in the air! We’ll also have food trucks, free balloons and a morning DJ. (Balloons will launch weather permitting.)

Saturday Evening Glow Event: What’s a Balloon Glow? When the hot air balloons remain on the ground, and the burner is ignited creating the balloons to illuminate in the dark!

• Date: Saturday, August 10
• Time: 7:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
• Location: City Promenade - 10000 S. Centennial Parkway
• Highlights: Hot Air Balloon Glow, food trucks, music, bounce houses, free face painting/balloon twisting/caricatures, and a spectacular drone show! What’s a Balloon 

Drone Light Show:

• Date: Saturday, August 10
• Time: 10:00 p.m. (weather may alter start time)
• Location: City Promenade - 10000 S. Centennial Parkway

Make sure you bring your cameras this weekend, because the Sandy Balloon Festival Photo Contest is back! Here's how to participate:

1. Tag us in your photos/videos on Instagram (@sandycityutah)
2. We'll share your post on our Instagram Story
3. Scroll through our Story and "like" photos to vote for them
4. At the end of the weekend, the photos that receive the most votes will be the winners.

Three winners will all receive a Balloon Fest T-shirt and a pair of tickets to Hale Centre Theatre. Additionally, the top vote-getter will also receive a $50 Visa gift card.
