Sandy Heritage Festival This Weekend!

Come celebrate our city's 130th birthday at the 2023 Heritage Festival in Historic Sandy!

Horse Parade

The Heritage Festival will kock off with a horse parade through the streets of Historic Sandy, starting at 10 a.m. Since this is a horse parade, please do not bring pets (dogs). Also, we understand that kids naturally get excited around horses but, for safety, please keep your distance from them.

Live Music

Get ready for some good old-fashioned country music at our upcoming Heritage Festival! Both Chris Petersen and Tom Bennette will be taking the stage at Main Street Park. (You might remember Chris Petersen from his performace during our 4th of July celebration)

Time Capsule

This year we'll be burying a time capsule full of mementos from the city's past and present that will be opened by Sandy residents of the future. Check out this video showcasing what items will be included.

Flag Unveiling

For over a year, we have been working on creating a flag for our city. That process will culminate in the unveiling of the final design during the Heritage Festival.

Transportation and Parking

Since there isn't a lot of parking space available around Main Street Park, where most of the Festival will take place, we're encouraging people to take TRAX and get off at the Historic Sandy Station, which is just a few blocks away. There will also be limited parking availability at Sandy Elementary, the Sandy Parks and Recreation Building, and Centennial Park, with a shuttle going back and forth between those locations and Main Street Park.
