Sandy Balloon Festival Happening This Weekend!

The Sandy Balloon Festival is just a few days away! From sunrise hot air balloon launches to the return of the drone light show, we have two fun-filled days of aerial entertainment planned for this weekend. Check out our event page through the link below or keep scrolling to learn more.

Hot Air Balloon Launches

The hot air balloon launches will take place at sunrise (about 7 a.m.) on the mornings of Aug. 11-12 at Storm Mountain Park. SUPER IMPORTANT: No drones are allowed! Any drones in the vicinity of the event could cause delays in the hot air balloons launching.

The Glow

On Saturday night, head over to the Sandy Promenade for our 'Glow' event. Hot air balloons will be on-site where they inflate and glow, but don't go up in the air. There will also be a DJ dance party, inflatables, glow-in-the-dark archery, and more!

Drone Light Show

After an overwhelmingly positive reception last year, we've brought back the drone light show to the Ballloon Festival. It will conclude the Glow event at 9:45 p.m. (weather permitting).

Photo Contest

Make sure you bring your cameras this weekend, because the Sandy Balloon Festival Photo Contest is back! Here's how to participate:

1. Tag us in your photos/videos on Instagram (@sandycityutah)
2. We'll share your post on our Instagram Story
3. Scroll through our Story and "like" photos to vote for them
4. At the end of the weekend, the photos that receive the most votes will be the winners.

Three winners will all receive a Balloon Fest T-shirt and a pair of tickets to Hale Centre Theatre. Additionally, the top vote-getter will also receive a $50 Target gift card.
