Don’t miss the final Movies in the Park event of the season on August 24 at the Sandy Amphitheater. Come early for Food Truck Night, then enjoy a circus-themed evening featuring a live performance by Ladu Dance Studio, an interactive dance lesson, a dance contest, and a sing-along showing of The Greatest Showman under the stars. Need a new passport or time to renew? Our Passport Office now accepts walk-ins Tuesday through Thursday, in addition to scheduled appointments. Please note that scheduled appointments are still available and will be served before walk-ins. We also offer passport photos and convenient payment options, making it easy to complete your application in one visit.

Now is a great time to renew before school, holiday, and winter travel begins. 

Meet your Sandy Police officers and celebrate National Night Out Against Crime on Monday, August 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sandy Amphitheater Park. Held alongside City Food Truck Night, this free event gives residents the opportunity to connect with officers, meet their neighbors, and help strengthen community safety.

Explore police vehicles, watch a K9 demonstration, visit crime prevention and safety booths, play yard games, take photos, and enjoy a variety of local food trucks. Join us for a fun evening that strengthens the connections that help keep Sandy a safe and welcoming community.

Join us for the Sandy Balloon Festival on Friday and Saturday, August 7-8. Balloon launches begin at sunrise both mornings at Storm Mountain Park, weather permitting, as dozens of colorful hot air balloons fill the sky. Then head to the Sandy City Promenade on Saturday, August 8, beginning at 7:00 p.m., for a spectacular Balloon Glow, where illuminated balloons light up the evening before an unforgettable drone show. Enjoy food vendors, live entertainment, and family activities throughout the evening. Admission is free.

Our Fall Youth Sports programs offer a variety of opportunities for children of all ages to learn new skills, stay active, and have fun. Participants can choose from Flag Football, T-Ball/Coach Pitch, Machine Pitch and Player Pitch Baseball, Girls Softball, Mammoth Street Hockey, Jr. REAL/Royals Soccer, Girls Volleyball and Soccer Academy. These programs focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and creating a positive experience for every athlete. Whether your child is trying a sport for the first time or continuing to build their abilities, our fall sports programs provide a fun and supportive environment for growth and competition.

Join the Sandy Police Department on Saturday, August 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Twisted Sugar, 1373 E. 10600 S. for a casual opportunity to meet the people behind the badge. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a dirty soda on a hot summer day? Whether you have questions, concerns, or simply want to get to know your local police officers, this event is a chance to connect with Sandy Police, Police Explorers, and Animal Services in a relaxed setting. What better way to start your Saturday than with pancakes and a tour of your local fire station? Join the Sandy Fire Department on Saturday, August 22, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Fire Station 31, 239 W. 9270 S., for a FREE community breakfast. Meet the firefighters who serve Sandy, explore the station and enjoy activities for kids. Everyone is welcome!
