2025 by the numbers report

2025 has been a very busy year for Sandy City. From packed community events and standout seasons at the Sandy Amphitheater and Arts Guild Theatre, to steady business growth and continued development across the community, Sandy is rising.

That momentum is matched by the dedicated work happening every day behind the scenes. Public safety teams have handled thousands of calls, strengthened readiness through ongoing training, and supported animal services through rescues, adoptions, and reunifications. City crews have also kept services running strong through winter plowing, bulk waste pickup, water meter repairs, and Waterwise landscaping that supports conservation and long-term sustainability.

Be Ready Sandy - Emergency Manager Highlight

Being prepared for emergencies, both close to home and beyond, helps us stay calm, make confident decisions, and protect the people who matter most. That is why Sandy Emergency Management is focused on helping residents build real readiness in 2026.

A great place to start is by attending the Be Ready Sandy meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., offered in person at Fire Station 31 and on Zoom. This year’s topics include practical guidance on flooding, earthquakes, and wildfire preparedness, with clear steps you can take right away.

You can also look forward to community-wide preparedness activities, including participation in the Great Utah ShakeOut in April and in Sandy City’s Preparedness and Safety Fair during National Preparedness Month in September.

Stay informed by signing up for Sandy City MyAlerts and consider enrolling in the Sandy Fire Department Community Connect Program so first responders have the information they need when it matters most.

Importance of Being Earnest. January 30 - February 14

Ends February 14th! The Sandy Arts Guild production of The Importance of Being Earnest just opened! This classic by Oscar Wilde is a sparkling comedy of wit, romance, and ridiculous disguises. Jack and Algernon have each invented alter egos to escape the boredom of polite society—but their double lives collide when love enters the picture.

With mistaken identities, sharp social satire, and Wilde’s signature one-liners, this delightful farce skewers Victorian conventions and proves that nothing is more important than being earnest. The show runs until February 14th. Bring your Valentine! Tickets range from $11 to $17.
