Sandy Community & Recreation Center

Sandy City is moving forward with plans to replace the aging Alta Canyon Sports Center with a modern, sustainable recreation center designed to serve the community for decades to come. The project includes a gymnasium, field house, indoor walking track, expanded wellness spaces, and preserves the beloved outdoor pool. Thanks to strong public support and contributions from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation and Salt Lake County’s TRCC grant program for helping to fund the construction of the new facility.

Alta Canyon Sports Center Final Days Events:

  • AUG. 13 – Splash Bash Send-Off: Free swimming and fun from 12–8 p.m.
  • AUG. 16 – Final Day of Operations at Alta Canyon

1300 East Construction Update

1300 East Construction Update

Road improvements on 1300 East are underway, with concrete work currently in progress. Paving operations are scheduled to begin in September, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of September. A message board will remain in place to notify drivers of ongoing activity.
