Good Morning,

With this being the second accident, please be aware that there will likely be increased attention and monitoring of our crossing guard locations. City Council staff members, and potentially Councilmembers themselves, may be visiting posts to verify that crossing guards are present during their assigned working hours.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that everyone takes their responsibilities seriously. Your presence can make a difference in someone's safety, and every minute counts.

*If a crossing guard is found absent from their assigned post during scheduled working hours without prior notification or authorization, the matter will be documented and reviewed. Appropriate follow-up action, which may include corrective or disciplinary measures, will be taken in accordance with City policies and applicable procedures.*

My priority is ensuring the safety of our students, families, and community members, as well as making sure each of you understands the importance of your role.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued commitment to keeping our streets safe.
