new Outlook-based log in method for Oracle Time Entry

Greetings Crossing Guards,

The way we have been using to log directly into Oracle using your Oracle ID and Password IS NO LONGER IN USE.

Starting now, the only way you can log into Oracle is through your Outlook email account. This method uses your Outlook ID (your complete CITY email address and your secure and specific Outlook password.

In order to get into Oracle to complete your timesheet YOU MUST HAVE A WORKING OUTLOOK PASSWORD. If you do not have a working password, YOU MUST CALL THE IT Help Desk at 238-2000 to request a password reset. (As before, the password reset you will be given from the Help Desk will take you a page for creating your own specific Outlook password.) Once you have your specific and secure password you will be able to click on the new updated link below to begin the new process of logging into Oracle through Outlook.  Clicking on the link below will bring you to a log-in page that will request your user ID (your CIty email address) and your new working password for Outlook.

Internal Users (Computer Lab):
For those of you who come into, or will come into, Edgewater to enter your time this Wednesday the 23rd, Jazmin and I will be there from 10AM to Noon, and then again from 2:30 to 4:30, to help with the Log In instructions above. If you want to beat the crowds you ay want to come to the computer lab during the morning time slot. The most important action you must take before coming into Edgewater you must do is to procure a working Outlook password.

External Users:
For those of you who feel comfortable following these instructions and completing their timesheets from outside the city system (i.e. from home), you will also be using the same link below. The only difference is that accessing the internal system (Outlook)  and supporting apps (Oracle) from outside the city system will require a 2nd Authorization Method to prove that it is you. There are many options available as you go through the log in process, but most of you are already familiar with Microsoft MFA (Multi-Factor Authorization) which is one of the options that will work.

There are many ways to save this link so that you can always access it on time entry day, and we can discuss these options when you come into Edgewater to do your time. Note that unless we forget ,we should always be sending a time entry reminder just prior to time entry day. This reminder will also have this new link below.
