Library Closed on 6/25, Cooling Station Open at Provincetown Town Hall from 10am-5pm Today

Due to HVAC issues, the Provincetown Public Library will be closed today (Wednesday, June 25). With the extreme heat, the Town is opening a Cooling Shelter in the Auditorium at Town Hall from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. today. All are welcome to come inside, sit down in the air conditioning, and grab a drink of water.

Please stay safe in the heat—if you see someone showing signs of heat-related stress, call 9-1-1 immediately.

To protect yourself and others, follow these extreme heat safety tips from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency:

  • Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
  • Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day.
  • Never leave children or pets in a closed car.
  • Use fans or air conditioning to stay cool.
  • Check in on neighbors, especially older adults or those with health conditions.
