Cooling Station Open at Town Hall Due to Extreme Heat
With today’s extreme heat, the Town is opening a Cooling Station in the Auditorium at Town Hall starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24. All are welcome to come inside, sit down in the air conditioning, and grab a drink of water.
Please stay safe in the heat—if you see someone showing signs of heat-related stress, call 9-1-1 immediately.
To protect yourself and others, follow these extreme heat safety tips from MEMA:
-
Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
-
Stay indoors during the hottest part of the day.
-
Never leave children or pets in a closed car.
-
Use fans or air conditioning to stay cool.
-
Check in on neighbors, especially older adults or those with health conditions.
