Applications for Province Post Affordable Rental Units in Provincetown Now Available

Applications for Province Post Affordable Rental Units at 3 Jerome Smith Rd in Provincetown Are Now Available

The Town of Provincetown is encouraging residents to apply for new year-round rental apartments at the Province Post development, a major housing project nearing completion at 3 Jerome Smith Road in Provincetown. Applications for the affordable units open March 12, 2026 and must be submitted by May 11, 2026.

When complete, Province Post will include 65 new rental apartments, including 61 affordable units and 4 market-rate units, housing over 100 people and representing one of the most significant additions of year-round housing in the community in decades. The development will feature a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments designed to serve individuals and families and support Provincetown’s year-round workforce. The community is expected to house more than 100 year-round residents once fully occupied.

Province Post is being developed by The Community Builders (TCB) in partnership with the Town of Provincetown and is expected to welcome residents beginning in summer 2026, following completion of construction and the tenant selection process.

Residents interested in learning more about eligibility requirements and the application process are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming hybrid community information sessions, which will be held at Provincetown Town Hall and online via Zoom:

These sessions will provide an overview of the development, income eligibility guidelines, required documentation, and the steps involved in applying for the housing lottery.

Affordable units at Province Post will be filled through a housing lottery process, ensuring a fair and transparent method for selecting residents. Local preference applies for qualifying applicants. The lottery drawing will be held virtually and recorded on May 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with a public viewing available at Provincetown Town Hall. Residents may also join the drawing online at: https://tcbinc-org.zoom.us/j/84325028988

Households must meet established minimum and maximum income guidelines to qualify for affordable units. Additional market-rate units will also be available at the property but will not be part of the lottery process.

“Addressing our housing crisis remains one of the most important challenges facing Provincetown,” said Town Manager Alex Morse. “Province Post represents a major investment in our year-round community and will create stable homes for residents who live and work here. We strongly encourage anyone who may be eligible to attend an information session, learn more about the program, and submit an application.”

Applications may be completed online or by submitting a paper application. Community resources and paper applications are available for those who need assistance by calling at (508) 514-1334 TTY: 711 or emailing provincepost@tcbinc.org
