Provincetown Snow Emergency Parking Ban Will Take Effect Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 14
Due to the snow we received overnight and that will continue today, a Snow Emergency Parking Ban will be in effect beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 14 on all streets posted with signs displaying the wording, “Emergency Snow Route, Tow Away Zone, No Parking in the Event of Snowfall” to allow Public Works to more safely and efficiently clear roadways.
The following streets are designated as Snow Emergency Routes (upper is north of Bradford Street, lower is south of Bradford Street), and all vehicles need to be moved from these locations by 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14:
- Alden Street
- Atlantic Avenue
- Brewster Street
- Center Street
- Commercial Street
- Conant Street (upper & lower)
- Cottage Street (upper)
- Cudworth Street
- Johnson Street
- Miller Hill Road
- Montello Street (upper & lower)
- Nickerson Street (upper & lower)
- Pearl Street (upper & lower)
- Pleasant Street
- Pricilla Alden
- Prince Street
- Ryder Street
- Standish Street (upper & lower)
- West Vine Street
The parking ban will be in effect to allow Public Works crews time to remove snow from roadways and sidewalks. By parking on a snow removal route, you are hindering the Town’s overall snow removal efforts, and you also risk your vehicle being ticketed and towed at your expense.
Pursuant to Chapter 40, Section 22D of the General Laws Massachusetts, the towing of motor vehicles shall be allowed if said vehicles are parked in violation of snow cleaning regulations, which prohibit parking on those streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes.
Please avoid any unnecessary travel today to allow our DPW staff to safely work to clear roadways.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Any updates about this parking ban will be posted at www.provincetown-ma.gov and on the Town’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ProvincetownTownHall
