Flood Warning issued October 22 at 9:43PM MDT until October 23 at 9:45AM MDT by NWS Grand Junction CO

Description

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northeastern San Miguel County in southwestern Colorado...

* WHEN...Until 945 AM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 942 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in
the warned area.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Specie Creek, San Miguel River, and South Fork San Miguel River.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mountain Village, Sawpit, Fall Creek and Placerville.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
