Noise Alert - Tooele Army Depot Detonations
Draper City has heard from residents experiencing vibrations and hearing explosive boom-type sounds in the Draper area.
We have confirmed with Tooele Army Depot that they are performing detonations today and believe that to be the source. The detonations are part of TAD's routine operations to dispose of expired military munitions.
The army depot conducts detonations typically from September through the end of October each year. Depending on the weather, the sound and vibrations can carry quite far.
