Corner Canyon Half Marathon, 10K and 5K

Last chance to register – today, September 16 until midnight! The Draper City 
Corner Canyon Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 7:00 AM. It begins and ends at the Andy Ballard Arena. Run mainly through Corner Canyon and the surrounding area on the dirt trail system. The course will pass by attractions such as Ghost Falls and the silica pit, and cross the Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge. Along the way, runners may encounter some of the Canyon's local wildlife, and enjoy the beauty of the area's fall colors. 

Participants will receive a souvenir goodie bag, event tee shirt (shirt subject to availability with late registration), race bib with timing chip, access to race photos, and a finishers medal.

No day-of registration and no refunds.

Free Landscaping Class
Draper City has teamed up with Localscapes to present a free class about creating your ideal landscape on Wednesday, September 18 from 7:00-8:00 PM at Draper City Hall. The presenter for this class is Madeline Sueltz, a conservation coordinator at Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District.


Learn the basics of the proven Localscapes method, hear about free local resources, and how to take advantage of substantial rebates available to Draper residents through the Utah Water Savers programs. Examples of successful projects by Draper residents using these resources will be shared. Solve your landscape challenges in a way that will improve curb appeal, while reducing maintenance costs and time. Space is limited and registration is required.

Farmers Market and Food Trucks
Tomorrow! Farmers Market and Food Trucks is held at Smith Fields Park (200 E. 13400 S., Draper), every Tuesday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Sunset Farmers Markets hosts the market, with food trucks on-site, through October. Bookmark their web page to view the weekly vendor roster. 






Fire Prevention Night
Draper City's free Fire Prevention Night event will be held at Draper Park on Monday, October 7 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in observance of Fire Prevention Week. At Fire Prevention Night, firefighters provide lifesaving public education using fun activities for children and adults to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires.

Haunted Trail

Haunted Trail tickets are on sale! This event will be held October 10 – 12. Only $3.25 per child (ages 15 and under). This is a popular event. Get them before they’re gone.

Prepare to be spooked as you hike along the Haunted Trail. This is a fun, family hike for children 15 years and younger, along a rustic, wooded dirt trail filled with creepy creatures, spooky sounds, and ghostly special effects. The darker it gets, the spookier it gets, we encourage you to bring the little ones early. Costumes are encouraged!

Prescription Drug Disposal Event
Save-the-date! Draper Police Department and Lone Peak Hospital will host a prescription drug disposal event at Lone Peak Hospital (11925 S. State Street) on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in observance of the National Drug Takeback Initiative. Clean out your medicine cabinets and turn in expired or unneeded medication for safe disposal.
