Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions for 2025 Independence Day Events

The Wheaton Park District will be hosting Independence Day festivities on July 3 and July 4, 2025. The City of Wheaton encourages everyone in the community to take part in the celebrations.
Fireworks & Festivities, Thursday, July 3
Enjoy food vendors, music, games, giveaways, and inflatables on July 3 at Graf Park, 1855 Manchester Road, starting at 5:30 p.m. A new fireworks and drone show will take place at dusk, at approximately 9 p.m.
During this time, motorists can expect traffic delays on:
- North County Farm Road, between West Roosevelt Road and Geneva Road
- Manchester Road, between East Street (Winfield) and North Gables Boulevard
- Surrounding neighborhood side streets near the DuPage County Fairgrounds
The DuPage County Fairground parking lot will only be accessible from County Farm Road. Handicap parking access will be available in the Graf Park playground parking lot off Manchester Road. Please use extra caution for pedestrians who are going to and from this event and follow parking regulations and posted signs.
There will also be no parking signs posted on the following streets on July 3:
- Union Avenue, between Wheaton Avenue and Main Street
- Wheaton Avenue, between Union Avenue and Front Street
- Front Street, between Wheaton Avenue and Cross Street
Parade, Friday, July 4
The Wheaton Park District’s Fourth of July Parade will be held on July 4, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade route will begin at Main Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, traveling south on Main Street, then turning west (right) onto Union Avenue, continuing south (left) on Wheaton Avenue, turning east (left) on Front Street, and concluding at Cross Street.
Roads temporarily closed from approximately 9 a.m. to noon include:
- Main Street, between Cole Avenue and Liberty Drive
- Harrison Avenue, between Wheaton Avenue and Cross Street
- Wheaton Avenue, between Franklin Street and Front Street
- Union Avenue, between Main Street and West Street
- Seminary Avenue, between West Street and Scott Street
- Hale Street, between Karlskoga Avenue and Union Avenue
- Wesley Street, between Main Street and West Street
- Front Street, between West Street and Cross Street

We appreciate your help in keeping the parade moving and everyone safe by staying out of the street during the parade. Signs will be posted throughout the parade route reminding you to stay at or behind the curb.
These streets will be staffed with uniformed police officers and personnel to assist and direct traffic during this time. Residents, citizens, and motorists are being asked for their cooperation in not moving the barricades to ensure participants' safety. Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and choose to alter their travel routes to avoid these areas.
