Join 'Family Slow Ride' through Seven Gables on June 28

Wheaton’s Bicyclist and Pedestrian Commission encourages families to join them for a slow bike ride through Wheaton Park District’s Seven Gables Park at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28 to ride and watch the Field of Honor American flag display being set up. This ride is open to cyclists of all levels and ages – grandkids to grandparents and everyone in between – and will begin and end at the Seven Gables playground/picnic shelter. Seven Gables Park (1750 S. Naperville Road) is accessible from Winners Cup Circle and Thompson Drive.

Participation requirements:
  • All riders younger than 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All riders must provide their own bicycle and wear a bike helmet.
  • Participants must also sign a digital waiver prior to participation.
The Wheaton Field of Honor, hosted by Wheaton Park District, has become a patriotic tradition each year where 2,000 American flags are displayed in perfectly straight rows in Seven Gables Park, honoring soldiers, veterans, first responders and other heroes who serve and protect our nation. The Field of Honor will be displayed June 28-July 4 and includes nightly patriotic performances. For more information, visit the Wheaton Park District’s website.
