If your vehicle is due for emissions testing, take advantage of a convenient option coming to Wheaton from June 2-6 and June 10-14. A Mobile Testing Unit will be stationed in the City of Wheaton’s Commuter Lot 9 at Carlton Avenue and Liberty Drive during the following times:
Drivers wanting to participate in emission testing should enter and exit Commuter Lot 9 from the Liberty Drive entrance.
Mobile vehicle emissions tests use specially equipped emissions testing vans to provide the services that you will find at a state emissions facility, including required vehicle emissions testing service and optional vehicle registration renewal services.
To have your emissions tested, you must have received a test notice or registration renewal notice that shows an emissions test is required. You can use the Vehicle Eligibility Check Tool at https://www.ilairteam.com/vehicleeligibility-check-tool and enter either your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate number to identify if your vehicle is eligible to test. This service is available to all Illinois vehicle owners; you do not need to be a Wheaton resident.
The City’s Commuter Lot 9 will remain open to the public for parking throughout this event. This opportunity is provided by the Illinois Air Team Vehicle Emissions Testing Program.
The Mobile Testing Unit will also be available at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton, from Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, June 28, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Monday, June 30 through Thursday, July 3, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
