Holiday Garbage Schedule, Christmas Tree Recycling and City Office Closures


The City of Wheaton wishes you a safe and happy holiday season. Please note these key dates related to the upcoming holidays: 

Garbage/Recycling Holiday Schedules:
  • For residents served by LRS, there will be no pickup on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
  • If your regular pickup day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, your pickup will be one day later the weeks of Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. 
Christmas Tree Recycling:
  • Christmas tree recycling of live trees will be offered at the curb starting Dec. 26 and continuing the weeks of Dec. 30 and Jan. 6 on your garbage pickup day.
  • After your pickup the week of Jan. 6, trees will require one garbage/organic LRS sticker to be picked up.
  • Please remove all decorations, place the tree at the curb and do not place it in a bag.
City Office Closures
Non-emergency City offices will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
