November Monthly Recycling Event Accepting Additional Items

The City of Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission’s next monthly recycling event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive.
The Commission will offer residents the opportunity to recycle a wider selection of items at this month’s drive-through event.
Items specially collected this month:
- Eyewear and Hearing Aids (Collected by Wheaton Lions Club)
- Eyeglasses and hearing aids
- Medical Equipment (Collected by Wheaton Rotary Club for Melba's Place, a project of Milton Township)
- Canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs
Items regularly accepted at each monthly event:
- Clothing and shoes (Please bag blankets, clothing, coats, shoes, and towels)
- Cooking oil
- Electronics (Please note that there is a $25-$35 fee for monitors and televisions)
- Fluorescent tube lights (No CFL light bulbs)
- Scrap Metal
