Portion of West Street to be Closed for Sanitary Sewer Replacement
Starting the week of July 20, West Street between Wesley Street and Seminary Avenue is scheduled to be closed to through traffic for approximately two to three weeks while contracted crews for the City’s Road, Sewer, and Water Rehabilitation Program replace a section of sanitary sewer main.
From approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, northbound traffic will be detoured one block to Gary Avenue, and southbound traffic will be detoured one block to Wheaton Avenue. The roadway will be reopened each weekday evening and on weekends, when crews are not working. Residents who live in the affected area will be able to access their homes throughout this project, and they will receive additional instructions from the City.
Please use caution when driving near the work area and follow detour signs redirecting traffic. We appreciate your patience as the City works to complete this important infrastructure improvement.
