City of Wheaton, IL
Willow Avenue Utility Work to be Followed by Street Vacation

Crews contracted by the City of Wheaton will be starting underground infrastructure work the week of June 1 to upgrade water and sewer mains on Willow Avenue between West Street and Wheaton Avenue. This work is expected to continue throughout the month of June, requiring the closure of this block of Willow Avenue.
Upon completion in early July, this work will be followed by the permanent closure of Willow Avenue from West Street to Wheaton Avenue. In 2025, the City of Wheaton approved a petition from St. Michael Catholic Church to vacate the Willow Avenue right-of-way between West Street and Wheaton Avenue. The church currently owns the property on either side of this block of Willow Avenue and petitioned the City to vacate the street to allow for a unified campus environment for the church and school and improve traffic flow for school drop-off and pickup.
