Wheaton Police Department Participating in Polar Plunge

Wheaton Informs logo
The Wheaton Police Department is ready to take the (cold!) plunge to support the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois! The “Wheaton’s Finest” team – with 30 participants from the Wheaton Police Department, Community Unit School District 200 and DuPage Public Safety Communications (Du-Comm) – will be jumping into a cold pond at the regional Oak Brook Polar Plunge on March 21. If you’d like to learn more about the team or lend your support, see the “Wheaton’s Finest” Polar Plunge team page.

This is the sixth year the Wheaton Police Department has participated in the Polar Plunge. The Wheaton Police Department was recently recognized by Special Olympics Illinois for the more than $15,000 the department raised in 2025 through the Polar Plunge and other fundraisers, thanks to the generous support of the Wheaton community. The team is hoping to build on its past success as it participates in this larger regional Polar Plunge to support local Special Olympics Illinois athletes and programs.
