Kick Off the Holiday Season in Wheaton with Nights of Lights, Parade, and Tree Lighting

The holiday season in Wheaton kicks off on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, brought to the community by the Downtown Wheaton Association and City of Wheaton.
Nights of Lights Park Lighting Ceremony:
Start with the return of the Nights of Lights in Adams Park, which will come to life with a park lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. This year’s display will feature more than 55,000 lights and an animated light display at the fountain. Nights of Lights will be open daily from 4-10 p.m. through Jan. 4. This event is free and open to the public. Adams Park is located near Main and Wesley Street, next to the Wheaton Public Library. The park lighting ceremony will take place at the Adams Park fountain in the center of the park.
Christmas Parade:
After enjoying the Nights of Lights, find a spot for the annual Christmas Parade at 6 p.m., hosted by the Downtown Wheaton Association. The parade will travel from Wheaton Avenue at Wesley Street south to Front Street, turning east (left) on Front Street, and finishing at Cross Street.

- On Thursday, Nov. 27 at approximately 9 p.m. to Friday, Nov. 28 at approximately 8 p.m., the following street will be temporarily closed:
- Karlskoga Avenue between Wheaton Avenue and Hale Street
- On Friday, Nov. 28 from approximately 4-8 p.m., the following street will be temporarily closed:
- Wheaton Avenue between Union Avenue and Wesley Street
- On Friday, Nov. 28 from approximately 5-8 p.m., the following streets will be temporarily closed:
- Wheaton Avenue between Wesley Street and Front Street
- Wesley Street between Wheaton Avenue and West Street
- Front Street between West Street and Cross Street
- Hale Street between Liberty Drive and Front Street
- Main Street between Liberty Drive and Seminary Avenue
- Cross Street between Wesley Street and Front Street
- Wesley Street between Scott Street and Main Street
- Liberty Drive between Main Street and Cross Street
Parade Parking Restrictions:
- On Thursday, Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m., there will be no parking allowed on the following street:
- Karlskoga Avenue between Wheaton Avenue and Hale Street
- On Friday, Nov. 28 from 4-8 p.m., there will be no parking allowed on the following streets:
- Front Street between Wheaton Avenue and Cross Street
- Wheaton Avenue between Wesley Street and Front Street
Tree Lighting:
Immediately following the parade, travel over to the pavilion on Liberty Drive near Main Street for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Then, enjoy the tree daily from 4-10 p.m. through Jan. 4.
