City of Crown Point Weekly Message April 23, 2024
Good evening, this is a message from the City of Crown Point with our weekly update.
Beginning this Friday, April 26, there will be intermittent lane closures along West Street as crews prepare to pave the road. On Saturday, April 27, West Street between Joliet and Walnut streets will be closed as crews pave the road, weather permitting. Please seek an alternate route. We appreciate everyone’s patience while work is underway.
On Tuesday, April 30, Cedar Lake Road will be closed between Whitcomb Court and West 127th Place as crews install sanitary sewers. Work is slated to wrap up Friday, May 2, weather permitting. Please follow the posted detour route. We appreciate everyone's patience while work is underway.
The City of Crown Point will host its Arbor Day ceremony at 2 p.m. this Friday, April 26, at the Wells Street entrance of the Historic Maplewood Cemetery.
Help keep our City clean by participating in the City of Crown Point’s annual Spring Clean-up Day from 3-5 p.m. this Friday, April 26, at the Crown Point Sportsplex, located at 1313 E. North St. Free tree saplings will be provided while supplies last. Gloves, garbage bags and grabbers will be provided. Volunteers should dress in comfortable clothing and shoes they don’t mind getting dirty.
Registration closes this Saturday, April 27, for the Crown Point Fire Rescue Charity Dodgeball Tournament benefiting the Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation. For more information, or to sign up, visit bit.ly/cpdodgeball.
Republic Services will accept municipal solid waste from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, April 27, at its transfer station, located at 1021 E. Summit St., for Amnesty Day. This collection is open to residents who live within City of Crown Point corporate limits only. Citizens will be required to present a driver's license and water utility bill for proof of residency. Waste can be brought in by car or pick-up truck only. Please visit www.crownpoint.in.gov for a list of accepted items.
