It is that time of year again where we need to start talking about timesheets, essays, and the President's Volunteer Service Award! Please check out the below information for some important updates:

Timesheets and Essays: 

The deadline to submit your timesheet and essay is May 8, 2023 11:59PM EST. We will not be accepting paper timesheets and essays. Everything must be submitted through JotForm.

Follow the important steps, below:

Step 1: Check your Volunteer Matrix profile to make sure your hours are correct. Look for any events that may say 'Unconfirmed'.

Step 2:  Go to this website: https://www.jotform.com/221085421916149 

Step 3: Fill out the form in its entirety. 

Step 4: Review the form before you hit the submit button. You can only submit this form once, so make sure you have enough time to complete!

Reminders: 
1. You can only include hours that you completed through Youth Council. 
2. Any event that says 'Unconfirmed' should not be included on your timesheet. If you think you received an 'Unconfirmed' in error, please email ebyouthcouncil@eastbrunswick.org.
3. Any volunteer hours completed from May 3, 2022-May 2, 2023 can be included on your timesheet.
4. The essay needs to be 2-3 paragraphs about your volunteer experience this year.

President's Volunteer Service Award:

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a volunteer award program that recognizes civilians for the hard work they do in their community. Youth Council is proud to have participated in this program for many years. By May 15th, Youth Council will order the awards on behalf of our members who qualify. The requirements for each award level are as follows:

 If you know that you are close to achieving a certain award, please make sure you sign up for Youth Council community service events between now and May 2^nd  to ensure you have enough hours to qualify. Additionally, if you know that you have achieved a certain award level, please send an email to ebyouthcouncil@eastbrunswick.org so that we have it on our radar.
 
FAQs:
 
What is the specified timeline for the PVSA?
-If this is your 1^st year in Youth Council, your hours for the PVSA would count from your 1^st volunteer event to May 2, 2023.
-If this is your 2^nd, 3^rd or 4^th year in Youth Council, your hours for the PVSA would count from May 3, 2022 to May 2, 2023.
 
How do I know which age group I fall into?
However old you are when we order the awards is the age group you fall into. If you are 15 or younger on May 15th when we order the awards, you will fall into the ‘Teens’ age group. If you are 16 or older when we order the awards on May 15th, you will fall into the ‘Young Adults’ age group.
 
What community service events count toward the PVSA?
Any community service event that falls within the specified timeline, and is confirmed on your Volunteer Matrix profile, will count towards the PVSA.  ‘Passport Challenge’ events do not count. 
 
If an event on my Volunteer Matrix profile says, ‘Unconfirmed,’ will that count toward the PVSA?
If an event says, ‘Unconfirmed,’ it will not count towards the PVSA.
 
Does earning (or not earning) the PVSA have any effect on my Youth Council community service record?
Not at all! The PVSA is just a way for us to give back to our members and recognize all of their hard work.
