The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia...
The City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia...

* Until 830 PM EDT.

* At 520 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Virginia Institute For Marine Sciences, Gloucester Point, Seaford,
Christopher Newport University, Queens Lake, College Of William
And Mary, Langley AFB, Hampton University, Northampton, Lee Hall,
Fort Eustis, Denbigh, Grove, Busch Gardens and Tabb.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
