AlertAnnapolis - Flood Watch & Possible Heavy Rainfall

This is an important message from the City of Annapolis Office of Emergency Management:

The Annapolis Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is currently monitoring a slow-moving storm system that could bring several rounds of heavy rainfall, potentially resulting in strong to severe impacts on the Annapolis area, most notably flash flooding for today, July 14th.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has placed Central Maryland under a FLOOD WATCH due to possible excessive rainfall starting at 2:00 PM.

Isolated thunderstorms with low impacts are possible for Annapolis between 2-4 PM.

More impactful, slow-moving, heavy showers and thunderstorms are predicted to begin this evening after 7 PM, and continue into tonight. These thunderstorms have the potential to be severe and could possibly contain downdrafts with southerly wind gusts of up to 58 mph. Rainfall rates up to 2-3 inches per hour are possible, which may lead to localized instances of flash flooding.

Maryland Residents can also report flooding and storm damage in their communities by downloading the MyCoast App on the App Store or Google Play. For more info, visit https://mycoast.org/md
