For the week ending Sunday, August 10, 2025, here is what the Lytle P.D. has been up to. Officers handled 59 service calls and conducted 111 traffic stops. Of those stops, 46 resulted in citations and 65 were either verbal or written warnings.
Our officers conducted 3 arrests last week; #1 – A traffic stop on Railroad St. resulted in the arrest of a 58-year-old male. He had an active warrant out of Bexar County for D.W.I. He was booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. #2 – Officers were dispatched to the Stripes C-Store for a report of a trespasser. A 70-year-old male was arrested for criminal trespass and booked into the Atascosa Co. Jail. #3 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old female for D.W.I. She was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
We had six property-related crimes reported. #1 - The owner of an empty vacant building on Main St. reported that a window was broken. It’s unknown if the damage is a result of a criminal incident. #2 – A broken window was reported damaged at an abandoned residence on Main St. After further investigation, officers believed that a homeless person had entered the residence. #3 – A complainant called the P.D. and reported that her vehicle was burglarized at the Star Food Mart. She said a laptop and some other items were taken. We have asked her to follow up and provide a written statement since it was reported several days after it allegedly occurred. #4 & #5 – Two different complaints reported illegal dumping in their commercial dumpsters. #6 – A complaintant reported that a man in the parking lot of H.E.B. gave him a gold ring and gold pendant necklace (probably fake). During the transaction, he took the complainant’s real gold chain! He told the man that God told him to give him the gold chain and ring. I bet it was his idea to take the guy’s real gold necklace.
The Lytle P.D. attended the Lytle I.S.D. convocation last Thursday, and it was a blast. The teachers and staff sure had a lot of energy; if they weren’t excited about the new school year, they were doing an excellent job of faking it.
School is back in session; it is interesting around the Lytle I.S.D. Primary Campus with all the construction going on. Please keep that in mind if you are travelling around the school. It will be nice when the construction is done, but that is what they have been telling us about IH-35 since the 90s.
