Lytle Police Chief's Weekly Report - Oct. 19, 2026
Monday, October 19th, 2026
Greetings - We have uploaded the weekly report to our website at www.lytletx.org/police
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Current Weekly Report.” If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch with me. I can be reached at our office number (830-709-0277) or by email at richard.priest@lytletx.org.
For the week ending Sunday, October 18th, 2026, … Lytle P.D. officers handled 48 calls for service and conducted 52 traffic stops. Of those stops, 15 resulted in citations, and 37 were warnings.
Not too much crime to report last week. I’m glad, because we really needed that time to catch up on the paperwork side of the job.
We had one property crime that resulted in an arrest. It was a shoplifter at H.E.B. Plus; a 41-year-old female was cited and released for theft. She tried to get away with cosmetics and body products valued at $81.
We had one other arrest that resulted from a traffic stop for speeding on Main St. A 54-year-old male was arrested for D.W.I., possession of a controlled substance, terroristic threats against a public servant, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
We are conducting background investigations on two applicants for our vacant police officer positions. Hopefully, they will work out.
Sunday, Oct. 18th, was my official 27th anniversary as Lytle’s Chief of Police. It doesn’t even seem possible; how have I lasted so long? I guess I am living proof that the “good old boy” system is still alive and well in Texas.
