Lytle Police Chief's Weekly Report - August 24, 2026

Hello from the Lytle Police Department! For the week ending Sunday, August 23, 2026, your officers handled 43 calls for service and conducted 70 traffic stops. Of those stops, 24 were citations, and 46 were warnings.
There were 2 property crimes reported last week: #1 – Certified Truck & Auto Repair (15200 Main Street) reported they discovered that a vehicle in the shop for repairs was missing. It was determined that a 2001 Ford F-150 was stolen on August 9th at 4:35 AM. #2 – A City of Lytle Parks employee reported that his personal weed eater was stolen from the back of his city vehicle. The vehicle was parked at the public works office at the intersection of Mesquite Street and S. Prairie Street. He brought his Echo weed eater from home to work to help the city, and some crooks stole it!
There were 5 arrests last week: #1 – A traffic stop on FM 2790 N. resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old female for an active warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was one our investigators had obtained. # 2 – A 77-year-old male was arrested at the H.E.B. C-Store for criminal trespass. #3 – A field contact on a pedestrian on Main Street resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old male. He had an active felony warrant out of Bexar County for Injury to a child/disabled with bodily injury. #4 – A traffic stop on Main Street resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old female for possession of marijuana. #5 – A traffic stop on FM 3175 resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old male for D.W.I. All five were booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
Our big Homecoming Night Parade / 75th City of Lytle Anniversary event is less than a month away! Mark your calendars for the evening of Saturday, September 19th! If you happen to be in the parade, please be sure to “light up” your ride. It’s dark at night, and if you have no lights, people watching won’t be able to see you. We learned this from a couple of years ago, which was our first night parade. If you are watching the parade, please be sure and stay off the main portion of the roadway, please stay outside of the white shoulder line. We were very fortunate that there were no injuries or incidents at our last night parade, and we want this one to be injury and accident-free as well. If you miss this one, the next big event will be the city’s 100th anniversary in 2051. I will be nearing in on retirement by then.
