Lytle Police Chief's Weekly Report - July 27, 2026

For the week ending Sunday, July 26th, 2026, your Lytle Police Officers handled 52 calls for service and conducted 57 traffic stops. Of those stops, 19 resulted in a citation, and 38 were warnings.
There was only one property crime reported last week. An unknown male attempted to pass two counterfeit bills ($20 and $50) at the H.E.B. Plus.
There were two arrests last week. #1 – Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the Pecan Grove Apartments (14900 Main St.). A 49-year-old male was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member. He was booked into the Atascosa County Jail. #2 – Officers responded to a report of a trespasser at the H.E.B. C-Store. A 71-year-old
male was arrested for criminal trespass and booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
Our drone was deployed twice last week to assist with house fires just outside the city limits. One was off Indian Sunset, and the other was off Laura Lee Lane. Our “eye in the sky” can look for exposures and assist with the deployment of fire department resources. It also gives our drone pilots some real-life experience.
Our schools will be back in session before you know it. You should expect increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic, big yellow buses, and flashing school zone signs. You may not know this, but inside our city limits there are three different school districts! Lytle I.S.D. returns on August 11th, Natalia I.S.D. starts on August 12th, and Southwest ISD’s first day is the 13th of August. Please slow down and expect delays, especially for the first week or so.
Overall, it has been a nice, slow summer around the police department. I have stayed busy at home. When I am not working, I am mowing the yard.
