Lytle PD Public Notification - 5.17.2026

On May 16, 2026 at 10:20 PM, Officers responded to the John Lott Municipal Park for the report of an alleged attempted child abduction.

Officers with the Lytle Police Department responded to the call and arrived on scene within approximately two minutes. Officers Roger Garcia and Paul Tafolla made contact with the reporting parties, who advised that the male subject had already left the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a Black male wearing black pants, a green shirt, and a black hat. Based on the information provided, officers quickly developed leads that led them to a residence within the city. The male subject was located at the residence and detained while officers conducted a thorough investigation.

Sgt. David Lopez and Chief Richard Priest arrived to assist with the investigation at the suspect's residence. After interviewing the involved parties, including the reporting victims and the detained subject, investigators determined that no criminal offense had occurred. The male was subsequently released from custody.
