Lytle Police Chief's Weekly Report - March 16, 2025
Greetings -

Here is your weekly dose of Lytle P.D. activity and other topics I choose to include. Some being newsworthy and other choices are random and possibly just a waste of your time. For the week ending March 15, 2026, … officers handled 52 calls for service and conducted 105 traffic stops. Of those stops, 43 resulted in citations and 62 were warnings.
There was only one property crime reported last week. Hacienda Jaliscience, A local Mexican food favorite, located at the intersection of Benton City Road and IH-35 was burglarized. Our suspect broke through a side glass door and only a small amount of cash was stolen from the register. This is one of those crimes where the damage to the door cost more to repair than the money the crook got away with.
There were two arrests last week: #1 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the “cite and release” of a 20-year-old male for possession of drug paraphernalia. #2 – A traffic stop for “running a stop sign” on the access road of IH-35 and FM 3175 resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old female for D.W.I. She was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
Officers also conducted two mental health emergency detentions; both transports were to San Antonio area facilities.
I have an update on our shooting event from last week. Our staff has been working hard at it, and it has paid off. Officers have recovered important evidence and conducted numerous interviews. The case is moving along well. I am glad that no one was injured, just a quick look at the news in San Antonio and you can see that senseless shootings are all too common. I want to highlight Officer / Investigator Anthony Lopez for his hard work on this case as well as Sergeant David Lopez who came in on his day off and worked diligently to solve this crime.
The city’s annual music festival is this weekend! The event will be held at John Lott Park. The music will begin on Friday night (March 20th) at 6:30 PM with the Tri City Band then Lucky Joe takes the stage from 8:30 PM until 10:00 PM. The park will be full on Saturday (March 21st), with the opening day of Lytle Little League! When the games finish the music festival will continue … Matt Hawk plays from 6 PM – 7 PM, Texas Double Shot plays from 7:30 PM until 8:30 PM and then the headliner, Kin Faux, plays from 9:30 PM until 11:00 PM. There will be vendors, and food trucks. No outside coolers allowed. I would suggest bringing your own chair and getting there early to secure a good spot. If we get to “standing room only” your chair won’t do much good.
