For the week ending Sunday, March 1st, 2026 … Lytle P.D. officers handled 68 calls for service! There was a total of 58 traffic stops. Of those stops, 28 resulted in citations and 30 were warnings. Each officer uses their own discretion when conducting traffic enforcement. It’s up to them to decide what enforcement action to take. When I’m working traffic enforcement I don’t give warnings for no insurance or for unrestrained kids.
There was one property crime reported last week. The owner of a 2004 Chevy Blazer reported that someone took $100 worth of clothes and $100 worth of hand tools. The vehicle was parked at H.E.B. Plus and there were no signs of forced entry.
There were 5 arrests last week. #1 - Ofc./Inv. A. Lopez was patrolling Main St. when his radar went off … he clocked a car at 81 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. That stop resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old female for D.W.I. I firmly believe he probably saved somebody’s life that night. #2 - A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old male for felony possession of a controlled substance. #3 - A dog bite on Farmer resulted in a “cite and release” of a 35-year-old male for a leash law violation. #4 - An incident that started as a disturbance in the parking lot of H.E.B. Plus resulted in a felony arrest. A 50- year-old female was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she intentionally struck another person with her vehicle. Fortunately, the injury was minor. #5 - A traffic stop on Main Street resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old male for D.W.I.
