Lytle Police Chief's Weekly Report - February 23, 2026
Greetings -
Monday, February 23, 2026, we have uploaded the weekly report to our website www.lytletx.org/police
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Current Weekly Report.” If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. You can reach me at our office number (830-709-0277) or by email at richard.priest@lytletx.org There will be a regular city council meeting tonight (Monday, 2/23/26) at 6:30 PM. Join us in person at the City Hall or watch it on the city’s YouTube channel.
Last week, your Lytle P.D. conducted 56 calls for service and made 81 traffic stops. Of those 81 stops, 40 resulted in citations, and 41 were warnings.
There were only two arrests last week. #1 – A traffic stop on Main St. @ Prairie St. resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old male for D.W.I. He was booked into the Atascosa County Jail. #2 – While conducting a welfare check, officers arrested a 46-year-old male on an outstanding warrant for shoplifting. The theft occurred back in June (2025). He was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
We had two property crimes reported last week. #1 - On Hidalgo St., the utility bed of a 2026 Ford F-250 P/U was broken into. Approx. $2,400 worth of hand tools were stolen. #2 – A business in the 14600 Blk of Main St. reported that a wire to their security camera appeared to have been cut.
We are about a month away from our annual music festival. On Friday, March 21, the music kicks off at 6:30 PM. Alcoholic drinks, food trucks, and vendors will be on site! We are starting later than usual on Saturday (March 22) with live music at 6 PM. There will be beverages, food trucks, and vendors as well. The park will be full all day as it is the opening day for Lytle Little League too.
We are currently accepting applications for an open Police Officer position. You must have an active TCOLE license (having already completed a police academy) or be currently enrolled in a Police Academy. We will be accepting applications until 5 PM on March 6th.
Working for the city is a great opportunity. It is like one big happy family. My role is somewhat of the creepy uncle.
