It’s December! Here is your Lytle Police activity report for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025. Officers handled 57 calls for service and conducted 65 traffic stops. Of those stops, 16 resulted in citations, and 49 warnings were issued.
There were 3 property crimes reported last week: 1 – Lytle Donuts reported damage to a fence. #2 – The Roadster Travel Center (IH-35 @ FM 3175) reported three thefts over several weeks. The total value of the thefts was approximately $1,700. The suspect has been identified. #3 – A 40-year-old female was cited and released for theft. She attempted to steal approximately $80 worth of baby items.
Officers made 7 arrests last week. #1 – A 29-year-old female was cited and released for leaving her children unattended in a vehicle. This occurred at H.E.B. Plus. #2 – A traffic stop on Lytle-Somerset resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old male for possession of marijuana and unlawfully carrying a firearm. #3 – A traffic stop on Benton City Road resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old male for D.W.I. #4 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the “cite and release” of a 21-year-old female for possession of drug paraphernalia. #5 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old male for D.W.I. (2nd Offense). #6 – Officers were investigating a prior incident, and an involved person arrived at the P.D. to provide a statement. Officers determined the person was intoxicated. The 41-year-old female was arrested for D.W.I. (2nd Offense). It makes it easy when they come right to you at the office. #7 – A field contact on the access road resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old male for Public Intoxication.
The hayride is Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Lytle Community Center. The first run is set to pull out at 6 PM, so get there early! There are a few changes for this year. Santa’s Playhouse will be at the Community Center; there will be numerous activities for the kids, and Santa will be there, too! The Mayor pulled some major strings because it’s a busy time of the year and Santa is in high demand.
We also changed the route slightly. So, we will be turning off N. Prairie at Houston St. and then heading to Blume Drive. So, this will cut out N. Prairie from the Primary School to FM 2790 N., and from FM 2790 N. to C.R. 681 by the High School. I’m sure the map will be easier to understand than my words. Here is a link to the map https://www.lytletx.org/DocumentCenter/View/3413/2025-Hayride-Map?bidId=
If your house or business is along the route, we are encouraging you to decorate. You can also add to the festivities by being outside and waving to the hayride, playing Christmas music, or even singing! Host a little “Hayride” party at our house and impress your friends. Please don’t throw eggs, which would ruin the evening.
I received a phone call from a local business owner who was filling me in on an incident in San Antonio. He met a family member for dinner (in the Alamo Ranch area). While dining, they broke into both vehicles and stole firearms. I am mentioning this because vehicle burglaries tend to increase at this time of year. Keep your weapons secured if left in the vehicle. They make all kinds of gun lockers. I am sure Amazon has plenty of options.
I enjoyed a long weekend visiting my brother in Bells and my father and grandmother in Paris (Texas, just in case you might think I am a world traveler). My grandmother is 98 years old! She lives with my dad, and he takes care of her. I’m just not sure who takes care of him.
We had my brother, all his kids, and all my crew. There were a lot of Priests there; you would probably have to go to a meeting the Pope was at to find more Priests in one place.
It was a nice visit.
We went into downtown Denison on Saturday, where there were free carriage rides, and all the shops had specials. The businesses were all giving away free donuts; it was some sort of gimmick for “Small Business Saturday.” Well, I broke down a couple of times … I couldn’t resist. In the first few shops, I was doing well. But I got stuck in one with the girls looking at clothes, and it started my downfall.
