Last week, your Lytle P.D. officers handled 59 calls for service and conducted 58 traffic stops. Of those stops, 13 resulted in citations and 45 were warnings.

There was only one property crime reported! A complainant reported that his iPad was stolen from his Jeep at the Good Luck Mart. The theft occurred a couple of days before his report was filed. The iPad was valued at $600.

It was a busy week for arrests; there were seven of them. #1 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the “cite & release” of a 42-year-old male for possession of drug paraphernalia. #2 & #3 – A traffic stop on Main St. resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and unlawfully carrying a weapon and his 25-year-old female passenger was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance. #4 – Officers responded to the Cricket Wireless for a report of a theft. A 35-year-old female was arrested on two active warrants out of Bexar County, one for fraud and one for theft. #5 – A report of a male urinating in public at the TXN Bank resulted in the arrest of a 66-year-old male for D.W.I. #6 – A traffic stop on Main St. for running a red light resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old male for D.W.I. #7 – A traffic stop on FM 2790 @ FM 463 resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old male for driving a stolen vehicle (2005 Chevy), possession of a controlled substance and three active warrants out of Bexar County … D.W.L.I., Failure to ID, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was also found to have identifying information of others in his possession.

Officers were also busy with mental health-related calls. Two emergency detentions were conducted; one was transported to the local Camino Real Crisis Center, and one was transported to San Antonio Behavioral Hospital. In addition to that, there were three other mental health-related calls.

Our next big city event is the Christmas Hayride. It will be held on Saturday, December 13th. The event kicks off at the Lytle Community Center at 6 PM. Get there early to make the first trip and get your share of free hot cocoa and cookies. In the past, the cost was $1 per person or one “canned” good. More information with the route will follow when it’s available.
I was out sick for two and a half days last week. I kept it “low profile” so the crooks wouldn’t see a hole in our defenses and try to take advantage of my sinus infection. Whoever took the iPad must have seen me sneaking into the doctor’s office.
