A summary of Lytle P.D. activity from last week included: 56 calls for police service and 144 traffic stops. Of those stops, 67 resulted in citations and 77 were warnings.
Officers made three arrests last week: #1 – A 38-year-old male was arrested for D.W.I. in the 19500 block of McDonald Street. He was booked into the Atascosa County Jail. #2 – Officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A 16-year-old male was detained on 2 charges of assault causing bodily injury (family member), assault on a public servant, and resisting arrest. He was detained in the Atascosa County Juvenile Detention Center. #3 – Offices were dispatched to a residence on First St. to take a harassment report. It was determined that the complainant had an active burglary of a habitation warrant out of Bexar County. The 39-year-old female was booked into the Medina County Jail.
There was only one property crime reported! The Stripes C-Store reported $250 worth of Lottery scratch tickets were missing.
Our National Night Out event is approaching! This year it will be Tuesday, Oct. 7th at the Lytle Community Center. The event will run from 6 PM to 8 PM. If your business or organization is interested in setting up a table or being a sponsor, please reach out to us.
You have probably heard the news that the old Bealls store (at the corner of IH-35 and McDonald St.) will be a Goodwill Store. That is some good news. That building has been vacant for too long. Like many of our businesses, it will attract people from all around. It will bring jobs and increase our sales tax revenue. It’s a win-win situation. Who knows … we may become the resale capital of South Texas. It’s not as “flashy” as getting a Buc-ee’s, but sometimes you must take what you can get.
